The Wakayapa Syariah residence was built on Waqf land belonging to the former Director of Bank Indonesia, Citibank, and one of the founder of Bank Muamalat, the late Mr. Amir Radjab Batubara, which has been handed over to the Yayasan WAKAYAPA. Savoy Homann Hotel stands as one of Bandung’s most iconic heritage landmarks. Located in the center of the city, its history dates back to before 1888. According to various historical sources, the hotel was established prior to that year and was originally owned by A. Homann, a German immigrant who arrived in the Tatar Priangan region around 1870.
What began as a family-run colonial guesthouse grew into one of the most prestigious accommodations in the Dutch East Indies, known for its hospitality and refined architecture. In 1939, the hotel underwent a major transformation with the addition of an Art Deco façade, designed by renowned architect Albert Aalbers—giving it the iconic appearance that remains today.
